Digital photography book for Lumix DMC-FZ28?

I have a new Lumix DMC-FZ28 but I don’t feel like I am doing it much justice. Can anyone suggest a good digital camera which introduce me to the basics, not so much choosing scenes but the slightly more technical side although I would like some pictures to inspire me. Thanks

an entry level DSLR would be the way to go. i suggest a canon rebel XS
